Tar River Baptist Association exists for the purpose of walking with member churches as they strive to be the churches God has called them to be in the communities where God has placed them.
Our Mission
The mission of the Tar River Baptist Association is to: Offer counsel, resources, and training opportunities designed to strengthen the work of the local church and to provide ministry and missions opportunities to advance the cause of Christ to the ends of the earth.
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Tar River Baptist Association is to: Communicate the excitement of missions, lead churches and church members to personal missions involvement, encourage and enable cooperative ministries designed to reach and care for people in the name of Jesus Christ, Maintain a Christian fellowship as nearly like the pattern of the New Testament as possible Nurture Christian personality and build into the life of our area the principles of the Kingdom of God Foster a close relationship between the Tar River Baptist Association,the North Carolina Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention with which bodies our Association proudly declaring itself to be in friendly cooperation.
Our Strategy
We are purpose driven, seeking to assist, train, and encourage all of our churches to be involved in hands-on missions. We are intentional in our efforts to meet the needs of our churches and people groups. At the same time, we continue to look for places where new churches need to be planted.
